Richard Schnap was born in Buffalo, N.Y. and educated at Oberlin and Vassar Colleges, the University of Pittsburgh, and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He supported himself for years in the marketing and fundraising departments of various organizations while pursuing his interests in music, writing and art. He’s played in many rock and folk bands, often as the chief songwriter, and has been published in a variety of literary journals including three self-published collections.
